Camino Wind-Down Instructions

As of November 2020, Camino lending and borrowing is on pause for the forseeable future.

Here are the instructions for winding down lending and borrowing.

The site will remain live through 2021.

To disable lending and borrowing please follow these instructions. Please return materials to their home libraries by the end of December, 2020.

To disable lending:
  1. Log in as staff
  2. Go to ILL Admin module and the Participant Record
  3. Click the Holiday List button at the top or scroll down to the Holiday List section of the record.
  4. Enter today's date as a start date and the date a year from now (or more) as the end date.
  5. Submit to save the Participant Record changes.
  6. Libraries who are on Holiday will be skipped as lenders on all incoming requests.

To disable borrowing:
  1. Log in as staff
  2. Go to ILL Admin module and the Participant Record
  3. Scroll down until you see these menu items (they should appear at the beginning of the menu, after the lender list configurations).
  4. Make sure all checkboxes are OFF for "Show Blank ILL Form" and "Show Request This Button".  This will ensure the request button cannot be accessed by any user and no new borrowing requests can be placed.
  5. Submit to save the Participant Record changes.

For libraries with borrowing/lending disabled:
  • Users will still be able to log in and search, but no requests buttons are visible, and libraries will be automatically skipped as lenders.
  • If the libraries have any open borrowing requests that haven't been fulfilled yet, they can change the status to Cancelled or Delete.
  • If the libraries have any pending lending requests, they can set the requests to Will Not Supply status.
  • Libraries will need to continue to work together to ensure the return of any physical items that were borrowed (if physical items are still out for requests).

You may choose to continue Courier service at your discretion.  Here is the link to Courier contacts.

If you have not already done so, please sign up for Reciprocal InterLibrary Loan (RILL) for free exchange of resources among SCELC members.  There is also a Rapid SCELC pod if you use Rapid-ILL.
