ACLS History E-books Project

The HISTORY E-BOOK PROJECT is an electronic publishing initiative of The American Council of Learned Societies. With a grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and in collaboration with five Learned Societies and a select group of presses, the Project will initially publish in electronic format approximately 600 books of high quality in the field of history. This Project is available to libraries through annual site-license subscriptions and plans to add about 250 titles a year. Launch is scheduled for June 2002.

The ACLS presentation will describe the project and show a demonstration of the site, including search features, links to book reviews, and demo pages of both e-book formats - scanned image books for backlist titles and XML encoded books for new titles.
