The Program and Professional Development Committee (PPDC) is charged with administering the SCELC awards and scholarship programs. These programs are only available to SCELC Member libraries (see member benefits).

- SCELC Research Incentive Award
The committee also assists with the educational programming for SCELC members on various topics through training, invited speakers, other activities to enhance SCELC members’ knowledge and to exchange information, including programming the annual SCELC Colloquium.

Join the PPDC
The PPDC is accepting nominations to join the committee. Submit a nomination or self-nominate through the SCELC Advisory Committees Nomination Form. Support for nominations should come from a library director or direct supervisor.
We are looking for: all experience levels, an enthusiasm for professional development and programming, a gusto for brainstorming, collaborative work, and outreach.
Time commitment: Monthly online meetings and year-round seasonal scoring responsibilities with regular deadlines. PPDC members are required to volunteer during the annual SCELC Colloquium in early March (online/hybrid volunteering obligations for members outside of California who cannot attend in person).
